This year's Joe Bob's Drive-In Jamboree will be held at the legendary Malco Summer Drive-In, located in beautiful Memphis, TN.
From Friday, July 8th through Sunday, July 10th, Joe Bob, Darcy, John Brennan, and the rest of the Last Drive-In team (alongside a number of special guests!) will be coming down for a weekend of scary movies, irascible rants, musical guests, and wild drive-in totals!
In addition, this year we have partnered with the incredible Gregory Hallows of Humble Enterprises to put on a very exciting new horror convention to take place during the daytime hours of the Jamboree at the Memphis Hilton, only a few miles away from the drive-in itself!

THE SHOWS AT THE SUMMER DRIVE-IN
Opening night, July 8th 2022 will be the “Halloween III Throwdown” with the cast and crew of the 1982 film showing up for a 40th Anniversary Reunion, and confronting festival founder Joe Bob Briggs over his long standing opposition to the only movie in the Halloween franchise that departs from the iconic Michael Myers narrative.
The Friday-night event will consist of a screening of the movie, followed by a one-hour Q&A with all involved “to determine, once and for all, whether Halloween III belongs in the franchise.” The issue will be settled once-and-for-all by an audience vote. We will also be awarding a horror legend with our Annual Lifetime Achievement Award as part of Friday's show!
The Saturday night program on July 9th will feature two cult movies presented in the format of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, and in keeping with the show’s tradition, guests and titles will not be announced in advance.
Sunday will feature the winners of this year’s World Drive-In Movie Festival, hand-picked by Joe Bob himself, showcasing some of the best young independent filmmakers working in horror today, including a drive-in screening of two feature-length films as well as a selection of short films.
Each night will feature a special pre-show starting at 6:30pm on the Main Stage, hosted by The Last Drive-In's one-and-only John Brennan and his band the Bigfeet, alongside some very special musical guests!
Entry for Weekend Passholders will begin at 6pm each night (VIP Passholders will be granted early-bird entry starting at 5pm), and pre-show festivities will begin on the main stage starting at 6:30pm. The main show will begin each night at approximately 9:00pm-9:15pm, depending on when each evening’s sunset completes, as we will need darkness for the screening to begin.
Concessions will be available from the Main Concession Stand until 1:00am each night.
PLEASE NOTE: The Summer Drive-In features 4 separate screens across its diamond-shaped lot, and the Jamboree will be utilizing all of them for each night’s main attraction. Joe Bob and Darcy will be hosting the show on the Main Stage in front of Screen 3 at the drive-in, the largest screen, and we will be broadcasting the festivities via a video link to the other 3 screens.
While we would love to be able to have everyone be able to watch the show from directly in front of the stage, unfortunately the layout of the drive-in does not allow us to do so. In order to increase the number of people who can watch the show up-close, we will be blocking off the first five rows of parking spaces in front of Screen 3 for attendees to bring lawn chairs for the duration of the show each night. (Please Note: Attendees must bring their own lawn chairs for this section)
We will do our best to accommodate as many people as we can into the seating area, but please note that ONLY VIP passholders are guaranteed seating in front of the stage. All other ticket and passholders will be accommodated on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you would like to secure lawn seating for the event, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you purchase either a VIP Weekend Pass or a Standard 3-Day Pass for the event and try to arrive early!
THE CONVENTION
In addition to the shows at the drive-in, Joe Bob and his team have also put together a new horror convention in collaboration with Gregory Hallows of Humble Enterprises, which will be taking place during the daytime hours of the Jamboree at the Memphis Hilton, only about 10 minutes away from the drive-in itself!
A number of famed horror stars, classic film and TV actors, and even wrestlers will be at the convention all weekend long to meet with fans, sign autographs, pose for photo-ops, and offer merchandise for sale. Additionally, the Jamboree has partnered with a range of vendors who will be offering convention-goers a wide variety of unique items!
